GOALS

Promoting sustainability and accessible transports

We propose adding bins, cigarette collectors, bike racks, shelters, and a bike repair station to promote sustainability and convenience. Additionally, improving transportation links with Sanbapolis for students will ensure easier access to our university.

Encouraging equity, diversity, and inclusion: a supportive environment for all

We advocate for free sanitary product dispensers in restrooms, fostering inclusivity and health. Enhancing collaboration with the psychological service and the university’s inclusion office will ensure better support for all students. Additionally, we aim to increase diversity and equity initiatives within SIS, creating a more supportive and accessible environment for everyone.

Reforms & other

We will address the reform of MEIS and ensure that the course will be improved, listening to students’ voices and advices. We advocate for the option of part-time study paths, offering SIS students greater flexibility to balance academic and personal commitments. These experiences provide practical insights into international relations and regional governance.

Improve the University’s Language Center

Strengthen the University’s Language Center (CLA) for SIS students: we advocate for increasing recognized certifications, improving placement tests to reflect actual language proficiency needs, and eliminating class overlaps. Our goal is to ensure equitable and efficient language learning paths that align with SIS program requirements.

Building a better SIS: comfort and space for all

We prioritize student comfort, our goals include: installing windows that open for better ventilation, repairing ceiling leaks, adding benches in the backyard and more tables for study spaces and eating, increasing the number of power outlets in classrooms, ensuring stable indoor temperatures through efficient heating systems, creating a bookcrossing space where everyone can find books, read them and leave them to circulate further With these improvements, we aim to create a more comfortable, productive, and well-equipped learning environment for everyone.

Transforming learning: new and improved innovative methods

We propose new innovative teaching methods, such as immersive day trips to key institutions such as EUREGIO, EURAC, the EU institutions, the Autonomous Province of Trento Committee, and the Balkans-Caucasus Observatory. Additionally, we aim to enhance assessment methods by increasing group work, presentations, and innovative teaching approaches.

More extracurricular experiences and initiative for students

We propose a wide range of initiatives for students to participate in, such as the “Memory Train” to promote historical awareness, the Model European Parliament (MEP) and United Nations (UN) sessions, as well as conferences, workshops, festivals and “aperitivi”, fostering an extracurricular experience for all.

Building a university that works: flexibility, clarity, and support

We’re advocating for more frequent and flexible exam sessions. We want to extend degree points until the March session and review the English for International Studies course for greater relevance. We aim to improve clarity on course structures and avoid disruptive weekend communications.

Expand international mobility destinations

We aim at expanding Erasmus+, Bilateral Agreements, Double Degrees options, Dissertation Research abroad and extending IMSISS destinations to MISS and MEIS students. We want to bring fresh and diverse experiences to all. Students can gain unique insights and build a truly international network, with a broader range of study and exchange opportunities.

From classroom to career: internships for real-world readiness

We propose replacing an elective exam with the opportunity for internship, ensuring every student builds practical skills and industry connections. This shift empowers you to be job-ready by graduation. Let’s bridge the gap between studies and the workplace.

RESULTS

MISS reform

The MISS reform was approved, simplifying the administrative procedures for students, with the first year in Trento and the second in Pisa. The ICDL has also been removed from the compulsory exams for the Master’s degree.

Better guidelines

We have introduced new guidelines for internships, as well as better defined graduation regulations, and increased the number of points awarded by the Graduation Commission.

More graduation opportunities

We have consolidated a new graduating session in September, increasing the number of annual graduation opportunities from 3 to 4.

Improved guidelines for non-attending students and Delegate for Disability

We achieved new guidelines for non-attending students, one of the most advanced in the University. Steps have also been taken to appoint a Director’s Delegate for Disability, DSA and other special educational needs, that underscores our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. In the name of inclusivity, the “alias” booklet was adopted, for transgender people.

Increased student representation

We increased student representation, added student seats on the SIS Board, Student-Teacher Committee, and introduced a student role on the Executive Board. A new Distinguished Teaching Award will honor top educators annually.

Dynamic events and sports opportunities

We’ve expanded events, from workshops to festivals, in collaboration with other departments and external associations, plus stronger sports involvement through year-round Facoltiadi participation.

Innovative and flexible teaching approaches

We encouraged more comprehensive syllabi, more innovative and alternative teaching, through group work, presentations, dissertations and more, creating a collaborative climate between students and teachers. The September graduation has also been consolidated, increasing the number of annual graduation opportunities from the 3 to 4.

Expanded international opportunities

International mobility, Erasmus+ and Double Degree destinations were increased. All pre-existing agreements on Bilateral Agreements and Dissertation Research Abroad have been maintained and a dialogue has been initiated for additional destinations to be made accessible.

Postgraduate internships and extra activity recognition

We have introduced the possibility of recognised postgraduate internships, which can be completed up to 12 months later, and replaced extracurricular credits for activities (summer and winter schools, workshops…) with micro-credentials, which, attached to the CV, guarantee better access and greater competitiveness on the labor market.

Sustainable and student-friendly spaces

We were able to place new study and dining tables, chess boards, a ping-pong table in the courtyard, “red benches” and new and larger bins in the name of environmental sustainability.

Edoardo Giovanni

Arcidiacono

Hey! I’m Edoardo Arcidiacono, a graduate student in the MISS program, and I have a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Milan. I’m running with UNITiN alongside my colleagues to represent students on the Council of the School of International Studies. Even though this is my first year in Trento, my time at a big university like La Statale has given me useful insights into what works well and what could be improved in our University. I’ve been passionate about representation and politics since 2021, when I was elected to the Municipal Council in my hometown, Milan. I’ve always believed that achieving real results—for citizens and students—takes commitment, good listening skills, expertise, sensitivity, and a dedication to others. These are the values that drive me, and I want to put them to work for you. In a time when higher education is facing many challenges, the role of our university is more crucial than ever. It’s not just about getting a degree; it’s about creating a vibrant community where we can learn, grow, and advocate for our futures. Representation is key to ensuring that our voices are heard. I’m here to listen, represent and commit myself for you, and I’d be honored to have your support. Let’s make our time at the School of International Studies the best it can be!

Cecilia

Golgi

Hi everybody! I’m Cecilia Golgi, a 22-year-old first-year MEIS student here at the University of Trento. Before moving to Trento, I completed my Bachelor’s in Political, Social, and International Sciences in Bologna. Now, I’m excited to be running with UNITiN to make our university experience even better. One of the things I love most is connecting with people and hearing different perspectives. In such an international environment, it’s inspiring to learn from each other’s backgrounds and experiences, and I’m here to listen, learn, and help however I can. I also believe that university life should be about more than just studying. That’s why I’m excited about organizing events that bring us together, letting us explore new ideas and the world beyond our textbooks while creating moments to remember. If you’re looking for someone who cares as much as you do about making student life vibrant and inclusive, I’d be grateful for your support. Let’s work together to create a university experience filled with opportunities, growth, and unforgettable moments!

Anna

Hasani

Hello everyone! I’m Anna Hasani, currently pursuing my Master in International Security Studies (MISS) here in Trento. After completing my Bachelor’s in International Studies at the same university, my dedication to this place and its community is quite clear! ⭐ A bit about me: I’ve already represented my previous Department as a student representative and now I'm really excited to bring the experience I’ve gained there to the School of International Studies (SIS)📍. During this early experience as a representative, I was the co-organizer of the Model European Parliament simulation at our university, which has been a gratifying experience thanks to the teamwork between MEP and UniTiN and the wonderful people who cooperated with me. I’m beyond ready to make sure events like this, and more, keep coming! To me, representing students isn’t just about voicing concerns; it’s about fostering a dynamic academic environment, keeping communication strong, and building meaningful connections between students and the university since we spend so much of our daily lives here. If there is one place where the representation can actually make a difference, that place is the University of Trento. So let’s all create a vibrant and supportive community that we’re all proud to be part of! 🫂

Gaia

Stocchero

Hi! I’m Gaia Stocchero, I’m 22 years old and I am attending the first year of my MA in European and International Studies, and I’m running for the School of International Studies’ representative of the students. I already did 3 years in the University of Trento for my BA degree in International Studies, in which I got the chance to see the flaws and strong features of the University’s organization and teaching. This time I decided to put myself on the line, to have the possibility to do something for our University, especially for the School of International Studies. I’m deeply binded with the University of Trento and I’m willing to contribute to its improvement. I believe that Universities should listen more to the students’ voice, as it’s a key way to improve themselves. Students’ ideas and opinions shape Universities, give them value and make them liveable and pleasant for the next students. I believe in the “from the students, for the students” as our efforts may not directly impact our present lives, but it will change future students’ lives. I can’t guarantee great changes, because they take a lot of time, but I do promise to give my best to start them and to make them possible. I decided to run in the UNITiN list 🧡💙 because it’s full of great people always open to help and support every student’s initiative and ideas. If you will and if you will give me your trust, I will be ready to assume my responsibilities, working hard alongside my colleagues, for your well-being, in the interests of all of us.
